In Kyrgyzstan, the best rivers for this kind of travel are the Chu, Chon-Kemin, Kekemeren, Chatkal, and Naryn. The unique landscapes of the republic provides everything that needed for unforgettable vacations. The rafting season in the republic varies from April to October. The level of complexity measuring on the six-point scale and depends on the season. That is why for some rivers, the most favorable time for water tours is the end of August, and September.

The river Chu is the most preferred for commercial rafting because it lies at elevation about 1,500m above sea level. The temperature of the water (15°-18°C) and climatic conditions from June till mid-September allow rafting even without diving suits, and the complexity of barriers does not exceed five points. The section of the river that runs in the Bohom gorge is the national 'white water arena and consider being a unique training site for the whole Central Asian region. Due to its location near the capital of the republic, communications development over the years and some other reasons the popularity of rafting in the Bohom gorge is growing among the locals and foreign guests as well.

Before, at the times of the Soviet Union the biggest popularity had many-day tours on the Chatkal, Kekemeren, Naryn rivers.
